Gerald Tourgee has been a member of DRG team since 2001, where he has supported clients in establishing new undersea networks through planning, development, re-use characterization, program management, and network integration and test- for both commercial telecommunications applications and environmental sensor systems. Prior to joining DRG, Mr. Tourgee’s work at Bell Labs spanned a variety of R&D initiatives in fiber optic communication. He was instrumental in new developments of free-space optical transmission design for terrestrial networks, high-power optical communication transmission between satellites, as well as undersea hydrophone development. He has been involved in fiber optic communication for over 20 years. Mr. Tourgee holds a BSME from MIT, and MSME from Carnegie Mellon University.
